Undocumented immigrants paid an estimated $10.6 billion in state and local taxes in 2010, according to the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, CNN reported. Those tax contributions will rise significantly if illegal immigrants are allowed to work in the United States legally, said Matthew Gardner, ITEP’s executive director.
