New estimates from ITEP show how taxpayers across the income spectrum would fare should Democrats enact the $2,000 payments they promised would happen if they gained control of the Senate.
The CASH Act, passed by House Democrats last week, would have a significant impact for the lowest-income 60 percent of people, who have annual income of $65,000 or less. The poorest 20 percent would receive payments averaging $3,160, the next income group would receive payments averaging $3,530, and the middle 20 percent would receive an average $3,850.
