“Data from the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy also was used to compare different states. The comparison looked at total state and local tax burden of households at seven different points in the income distribution of each of the 50 states. The overall ranking looked at four levels of tax dependency in each state. When it comes to property taxes, Idaho was ranked 22. Idaho’s dependency on sales and excise taxes was ranked 25. Dependency on income, both personal and corporate, was ranked 33; and dependency on all other taxes was 30.”
