Meg Wiehe, deputy director of the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP), tells Teen Vogue that caring about social policy requires understanding tax policy. “What I want people to understand is that this touches every part of their lives… this is the fight. This is a health care fight. This is an immigration fight. It’s a fight that impacts communities of color. It impacts young people, and it impacts women. This is everything tied into one.”
