In a 2012 report, the bipartisan Partnership for a New American Economy used three different Census Bureau surveys that collectively found that in 2011, 28% of new businesses were founded by immigrants, even though they represented only 12.9% of the population. At the same time, entrepreneurialism among the native born declined.”
