Maddie Brown Shirley is a policy intern who focuses on state and local tax policy. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public policy at George Washington University’s Trachtenberg School. While in graduate school, she has worked on policy issues spanning social insurance, federal budgeting, and taxation. Prior to her MPP, Maddie worked in tax preparation after earning a Bachelor of Science in Businesses Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.
