Governor Christie said “there’s nothing off the table” as he considers ways to plug a projected $807 million budget gap with just two months left in New Jersey’s fiscal year.

 

“I’m going to use every tool at my disposal to get a balanced budget,” he said. “There’s nothing off the table.”

Meg Wiehe, policy director for the non-partisan Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, said many states saw a bump in revenues last year as a result of higher tax rates that went into effect for the 2013 tax year.

“Any reasonable forecaster would have known the bump should not have been built into the revenue forecast this year,” she said.
